I'm John Lowry. Based in Calgary, Alberta. I run Google, Microsoft, and Meta ad campaigns for small businesses across Canada, the US, and beyond, with the kind of care and focus you'd expect from someone who genuinely loves this work.
Professional management at $100–$125/hr. Your ad spend always goes directly to the platforms. Never through me.
Most agencies are fine. Fogg is built around ideas nobody else is doing, because I actually care how this ends for you.
I will never work with your competitor. Ever. When you're with Fogg, your industry is yours. I'm in your corner and only your corner.
You'll see my hours, my work, my expenses. Everything. No mystery, no black box. You'll always know exactly where your money is going and why.
Not happy at the end of the month? Don't pay. Simple as that. I put it in writing because I mean it.
No account managers, no support tickets, no getting passed around. You email me, I answer. That's how it works here. Unless we need to get on a call to grow this thing, and then I'm absolutely there.
I built Fogg around the clients I actually love helping. If you see yourself in either of these, I'd genuinely love to talk.
You've never run paid ads before and the whole thing feels a little overwhelming. That's completely normal, and honestly it's my favourite place to start. I'll make it simple, I'll make it calm, and I'll help you build something that actually works. No wasted money, no confusing jargon. Just steady, positive progress toward what you're trying to build.
You've worked with an agency that overpromised, underdelivered, and left you feeling frustrated and confused. A lot of my clients arrived at Fogg after exactly that experience. I'm genuinely sorry that happened to you. I'd love the chance to show you what it feels like when someone actually cares about your results.
Clients hire me to run their paid ads. I've been doing this since 2004, back when Google called it AdWords and the whole thing was a lot more wild west. I started Fogg Industries in 2008, and I haven't looked back since. I know this world inside and out, and I'm genuinely excited to put that experience to work for you.
Search campaigns that reach people when they're actively looking for exactly what you offer. Keywords, bidding, ad copy, landing pages. The whole picture, built right from day one.
Often overlooked and almost always underpriced. If your competitors aren't here, that's a real opportunity. If they are, I'll help you beat them.
Facebook and Instagram campaigns built to find the right people and turn their attention into action. Great for brand awareness, lead generation, and remarketing to people who already know you.
LinkedIn Ads for B2B? TikTok to reach a younger crowd? Pinterest, YouTube, Spotify? If there's a platform your customers are on and you want to test it, let's talk. I love a good experiment, and I'm always up for trying something new.
Paid advertising is one of the few places in business where you can spend real money and get absolutely nothing back. Not because the platform doesn't work, but because the details matter enormously. Here's what actually happens without someone who knows what they're doing.
Google and Meta's ad platforms are genuinely complex. Bidding strategies, match types, audience signals, conversion tracking, quality scores: every one of these has a right and wrong way to set up. Getting it wrong doesn't just hurt performance. It costs money while you figure it out.
Paid ads need regular attention. Keywords drift. Competitors change their bids. Audiences shift. An account that isn't actively managed will quietly bleed money on irrelevant clicks while the real opportunities go untouched.
Modern ad platforms are AI-driven. They optimize based on the signals you feed them. Feed them garbage (wrong conversion events, no negative keywords, poor campaign structure) and they'll confidently spend your entire budget finding exactly the wrong people.
Even if you figure it out, learning and managing paid ads takes real hours. Hours you could spend on your actual business. The question isn't just "can I do this myself?" It's "is this the best use of my time?"
I think you deserve to know exactly what you're paying for. So every month, you'll get a full breakdown: my hours, what I worked on, every expense. I call it Transparent Capitalism, and it's something I genuinely believe in. Your money, your business, your right to know.
I charge a real rate because I do real work. But if you're not happy at the end of your first month, you don't owe me a thing for management. I believe in what I do enough to put that in writing, and I want you to feel completely safe working with me from the very first day.
Small business? Tight budget? Reach out anyway. I'd rather work with great people than turn someone away over budget.
I've been running paid ads since 2004, and running Fogg since 2008. In that time I've worked with businesses of every shape and size, across just about every industry you can imagine. And the thing that has never changed, not once, is why people come to me.
They're not just looking for clicks and conversions. They're building something. A business, a livelihood, a legacy. Something that matters to them. And they need someone in their corner who actually gets that.
That's what Fogg is. Not just an ads person. A partner who's genuinely invested in your dream and genuinely happy when it comes true.
I've been running paid search campaigns since 2004, back when Google called it AdWords, keyword match types were a novelty, and "digital marketing" wasn't really a phrase yet. I started Fogg Industries in 2008 because I wanted to do this work on my own terms, for clients I actually believed in. A lot has changed since then. My love for this work hasn't.
I started Fogg because I kept seeing the same problem: great small businesses with big dreams, bleeding money on campaigns that were set up wrong, ignored, or handed to someone who didn't really care. That bothered me more than I can say.
Fogg is a one-person operation. When you hire me, you get me, someone who's in your account, thinking about your results, and genuinely excited to see your numbers go up. I work with a small number of clients at any given time, and I'm proud of every single one of them.
I was referred to John from a fellow marketing colleague and could not be happier with his work. Not only is he warm and easy to work with, but he gets the job done (without inflated fees and expense). What is better than that! As a marketer for a small business, outsourcing is a must, however when that decision is made, we want to have an impact that validates our choices. Engaging John’s services has done that. He responds to my requests in a timely manner, is patient and agile and has made me look like a rockstar who understands the nuances of digital advertising. John has become an extension of our marketing department.
Small businesses I’ve managed paid ad campaigns for directly.
Brands I’ve partnered with over 21 years in the industry. A few names you might recognize.
Honest answers to the things people are actually wondering. No corporate non-answers here.
My management fee runs between $100–$125 per hour depending on the scope of your account. Most clients land around $900–$1,200 per month in management fees. A typical setup month runs about 10 hours, and ongoing management is roughly 4–5 hours per week depending on your ad spend. Your ad spend (whatever goes into Google, Meta, or Microsoft) is separate and always paid directly by you to the platform. You’ll never wonder where your money went because I show you every hour and every expense, every month, without exception. That’s the whole Transparent Capitalism thing. I mean it.
No hard minimum, but here’s the honest truth about online advertising: you’re buying data, and data costs money. I call it time or tears. A small daily budget will get you there eventually, but slowly. A larger budget gets you the data you need to make smart decisions much faster. I’ll always tell you what your budget can realistically do before we spend a dollar. No surprises, no disappointments.
Paid ads can move fast. A campaign can be live within days. But meaningful results, the kind where you can see a clear pattern and start optimizing confidently, usually take 60–90 days. Anyone who promises you results in two weeks is selling you something. I’d rather set honest expectations and then beat them. A lot more fun for both of us.
Then you don’t pay management fees for that month. Simple as that. I believe in my work enough to put that in writing. If at the end of your first month you don’t feel I’ve delivered value, we have an honest conversation and you don’t owe me a thing for management. I genuinely want every single client to be happy. It's not just a guarantee. It's how I sleep at night.
Never. One of Fogg’s core promises is one client per industry. The moment you sign on, your industry is locked. No competitor will ever get access to me, my thinking, or your strategy. That’s not a policy. It’s a personal commitment. I’m in your corner and only your corner.
Nope. Month to month, always. I want you to stay because you’re genuinely happy with the results, not because you're stuck. That said, I’ll always be straight with you if I think a campaign needs more runway to show what it can really do. Good things take a little time.
Fogg isn’t taking on new clients at this time.
Primarily by email. Here's why I love it: email gives us both a clear record of every decision, every request, and every conversation. Nothing gets lost, nothing gets misremembered. I also do my best work when I can go deep on one thing at a time, and constant phone calls make that nearly impossible. You’ll get a thorough monthly report covering everything I did and what's coming next. If we ever genuinely need a call, we'll jump on one, but I promise your inbox won’t become a second job.
They’re yours. Always have been, always will be. If we part ways, all you need to do is remove me as a manager on your accounts, and just like that, I no longer have access. No drama, no holdbacks, no awkward handover process. Your accounts, your data, your business. I’m just the person you trusted to look after them for a while.
You can, and plenty of people do. Google and Meta make it genuinely easy to spend money. Making that money come back is the hard part. The platforms are designed to get your budget out the door quickly. They’re not designed to make sure it’s working. That’s what I do. I’ve been inside these platforms every day since 2004. I know where the money gets wasted, how to stop it, and how to push more of it toward results. If you’ve got the time to learn it properly and the patience to test and optimize, go for it. If you'd rather hand it to someone who already knows and get back to running your business, that's what Fogg is for.
